About
He Rengao is a printmaking artist whose work investigates structure, repetition, and material resistance through process-driven techniques.
He Rengao's practice treats printmaking as both image-making and research: a disciplined way to test how pressure, ink, and surface can produce controlled variation. Working in series, he builds compositions from repeated forms and measured intervals, allowing subtle shifts—density, registration, texture, and plate wear—to become part of the visual language.
Rather than using printmaking to reproduce a single image, He uses it to observe difference. Each edition becomes a field of small decisions: the balance between clarity and erosion, control and contingency, intention and trace. The resulting works are quiet in tone but precise in construction, emphasizing rhythm, restraint, and the physical facts of the medium.
